Winner Story
Gave a hole away, won by two
Brent Raynsford put up 39 points off 11 in a field of 72 that averaged 28.5, a full 10.5 clear of the pack. There was a pickup at the 6th, that hole handed back to the course entirely, and he still had 2 in hand when the counting stopped.
The card barely leaned either way, 20 out and 19 home. The 12th got him for a double and a single point, and the answer came at the last, a par worth 3 with the stroke. One rough hole, one abandoned, and the rest did the work.

Calvin Simpson missed the cut by one, and he'll spare a thought for the 18th, where a pickup took the very point that would have done it.
Villain Hole
A point a visit, take it or leave it
The 6th paid out exactly a point a man, 72 points from 72 players, and collected 23 wipes doing it. When the field came back around at the 15th it had barely softened, 1.04 a visit and 25 wipes, the two hardest holes on the card and the same stretch of grass both times. The 3rd took 20 wipes for third place, business as usual.

Chaos Card
↑ Recovery
Out in nine, home in nineteen
Sam Maguire made the turn on 9 points with a 7 at the 6th already on the card, and the day looked gone. The back nine answered with 19, a 10-point swing between his two halves. It landed him on 28, which is precisely where the cut fell. In, just.

It was all going so well
Matt Andrade turned on 22 points, the sort of front nine that starts rumours. The trip home returned 13, a 7 at the last serving as the closing statement. He still finished 10th on 35, so the front nine bought him plenty of cover.

278 birdies across the season so far
Nobody managed more than 2, and five players got there: B. McPherson, C. Simpson, D. Karren, K. O'Neill and M. Eagan.
Quietly Noted
Stats that stood out. Things that went unannounced.
17-17
Bill Colwell went out in 17 and came home in 17, the steadiest card on the property. Finished 11th without a ripple in either direction.
16-7
Gavin Ferguson went out in 16 and came back with 7. Same clubs, same course, and a back nine with entirely different ideas.
28
Off 3, Mark Bradley signed for 28, half a point under the field average, and got in right on the number. Even the good players get a Saturday like that.
Form Watch
Second, again
Phil Moreton made it back-to-back runner-up finishes, 37 points off 20 this week. No door has been knocked on harder without opening.
Alex Lang has made six cuts in a row and counting, and this week pushed the form to 3rd on 36 after going out in 21.
The Notice Board
Names from across the field. The week's milestones and season threads.
Don Garrett's four-cut run ended one short on 27. The next one is available from Saturday.
Trevor Gillespie put up 35 and 5th place, three better than anything he'd posted in a short season so far.
Grant Birse, whose cut run ended last week, answered straight away with 31 and 24th.
Final Word
Brent Raynsford, 39 points and 2 clear, the ninth different winner in nine episodes. Whatever this club is doing about sharing it around, it's working.
Same place Saturday. Sooner or later, somebody wins two.
