Browne Comes Home in 29 and Takes the Medal
Darcy Browne won the monthly medal with nett 61 off 29, 3 clear in a field of 84 and 12.3 better than the day averaged. Medal day is the one everybody turns up wanting, and he made it look like the obvious result.
Out in 32, home in 29. The second nine was the better nine, which is not how these usually go. The 7th got away from him for an 8 and his answer was to play better golf after it, not to hang on. Nobody else in the field went anywhere near 61.

Tom Cashman turned in nett 40 with a 9 at the 6th already on the card, which is not the usual address of a runner-up. The back nine came home in 24, a 16-shot swing between his two halves. He finished 2nd on nett 64, and the front nine never came up again.

Heathcote Turns in the Conversation, Finishes on the Number
Kevan Heathcote made the turn in nett 32 with plenty in front of him. The back nine gave back 42, a 9 at the 13th doing most of the talking. He came in 52nd on nett 74, which was exactly the cut. In, by nothing.

Last episode Brent Raynsford won the thing. This one he finished 78th. Matt Andrade came from 10th to 76th, so at least there was company on the way down.

Off 1, Matt Grenot went round in 71 and took the scratch on countback after tying with Ken O'Neill. It bought him 27th on nett 70, because some weeks the handicap is the opponent.

Moreton Makes It Three, Saunders Makes It Six
Phil Moreton has finished top 10 three episodes running, 2nd, 2nd and this week 5th on nett 64. Nobody has had a better month without actually winning one.
Andrew Saunders has made six cuts in a row, the longest run going, and got this one on nett 74 in 41st. The cut was 74. He appears to have a feel for exactly how much is enough.
